Combo ticket for Chamonix sightseeing?

I can’t seem to find a combo ticket option for any of the lifts, etc. out of Chamonix, i.e. the lift to Aiguille du Midi and the railway to Mer de Glace. I would assume such a thing exists, but perhaps not?

Mountainmama,

When my daughter and I were there in the Spring of 2016, the ticket to Aiguille du Midi (to the summit) included the railway to Mer de Glace, but it looks like this has changed.

It looks like they now have a Mont- Blanc MultiPass
Here's another helpful website I liked when planning our trip: Chamonix.com

Enjoy your trip!

Thank you SO MUCH! This is exactly what I was looking for. I thought I had seen it in the past so I was fairly sure it existed. This saves a lot of money versus buying multiples.

Even better -- with advance booking (more than three days out), you save an additional 20% off with online purchase. So it's roughly 200 Euro for our family of four, for two days of riding. Can't beat it.

Mountainmama,

I'm glad I was able to help out!

How old are your children? Make sure you read up on Altitude sickness, aka, Acute Mountain Sickness.

When we went up to the summit of Aiguille du Midi, I started developing a bad headache and some nausea, and knew it was time to head down to a lower elevation.

FYI: If your children are less than 5 they will not be allowed to go up on the Aiguille du Midi cable car.

On a happier note, you may enjoy eating at these places which were recommended to us by our airport shuttle driver:

  • Restaurant 'Le Caveau' - delicious food in a unique restaurant located in a real cave!

  • MBC - If you're in the mood for great burgers and fries!

Enjoy!

Thank you for the suggestions. The cave restaurant sounds intriguing!

I have experienced the altitude sickness first hand in Juliaca (Peru) as we adjusted before the Inka trail. No fun at all. I appreciate the reminder!

Us I agree with writer about the altitude. It is not a cheap ride up to the top and we waited in line for over a couple hours even though it was timed admission. Our family of 5 went up and 3 of them wanted to go right back down. It was 17 degrees f. I should have gone parasailing instead

I can't seem to figure out the Chamonix web site? How are you getting 2 days for a family of four for 200 euro? We will be there at the beginning of June and would like to take advantage of advanced booking! Thanks! Jeff
