We are heading to Colmar tomorrow and need a taxi service to take us from our apartment in city center to the train station next Sunday. I've gotten one "sorry we are booked" and 3 non responses. I've used What's App which they've all had or email. I get the feeling nobody wants to do a short run on a Sunday morning. I've even name dropped that our host recommended you to the one taxi services she recommend...nothing! Has anyone ever used Uber which I heard is iffy or walked? It's only 15-20 minutes to walk but we'll have a bit of luggage and I'm not excited about dragging it through the city and it's going to be very hot. We may even need to cough up extra money and move to a hotel with AC though our apartment is non refundable.
I'm hoping to get a taxi at the train station when we arrive and ask if they'll pick us up, but wondering about other experiences. There's no shuttle bus or anything like that available. Any other suggestions welcome.
UPDATE: We had planned to get in the taxi que upon arrival at the train station. There was one taxi and one passenger ahead of us. Taxi driver said someone would be there soon. We waited about 15 minutes and nobody came. We had large suitcases and it’s mid 80*F so we ended up walking into town about 15+ minutes. I forgot to check the Uber app (jet lagged and hot!) They do have it, but is it reliable? TBD. Walk was fine (without luggage it would be really nice; route took us through a beautiful park.)
2nd UPDATE: Taxi Grob has agreed to pick us up for our departure.
