On way from Paris to Basel, we want To stop at Colmar for a few hours to have lunch and walk around. In the Rick Steves book it talks about a bicycle rental place that also stores luggage for a nominal fee. However on the day that we are planning to go in January the store is closed. Does anybody have any other suggestions for any place in Colmar that would store luggage as there is no storage at the train station.

So what exact date is that?

Since these are private establishments, if it is a Sunday, your options are limited.
Sam: Thanks for the response. I never heard about the website. It seems as if it might just work. Have you had experience with it before? We are going to be there on January 2, 2019. Should I assume that the place that I will be dropping the bags off is legit? How do I figure that out?
Matt
I have not used them, but they appear to be businesses much like the bike shop Rick has in his book. Looks to be like an AirBnB for luggage storage.
