I am looking for recommendations for restaurants in Colmar. Local cuisine or Italian. Not interested in Michelin Star dining but great food and quaint atmosphere is a plus. Table for 2.
Quaint atmosphere in Colmar is a stretch.
Excellent food. Reservations a must.
Thank you. We actually have reservations there for one night. Need two more nights though.
We enjoyed Bistrot des Lavandières in September. The staff were pleasant and fun, the decor was unique with antique clothing hanging about, and our food was delicious. We were there in September. It was cash only which seemed to be a temporary thing. But you might want to ask ahead of time, if using a credit card is important to you.
Mokka Cafe was delightful for breakfast and lunch. We ate there several times as we stayed in Colmar for about a week. If you have a chance to try their chocolate pear tarte, do it! It was delicious!
Enjoy!

I enjoyed La Maison Rouge last December and it was lovely. White tablecloths. but not stuffy in the least. Exellent food.
Thanks for those suggestions. Unfortunately, I am late in planning our dining. The above are closed Christmas Eve and day. Not surprised but disappointed nonetheless. Will keep looking.
We had a lovely evening meal at L'un des sens in Colmar. Small plates, good wine choices, cozy decor. However, they are small and may well not be open Christmas Eve or day.
Here's a link to restaurants open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Colmar from the Colmar Christmas Market website.

I know you will enjoy Colmar! I thought it so thoroughly charming although I've only visited in Spring, not Christmas. Making plans for 2026 so I would appreciate your doing a Trip Report when you get back, lol!!
