We stayed at the Ibis Styles Colmar Centre and liked it. Not too expensive, convenient to the old town as well as the railway station. Parking (paid) in the Rapp underground garage across the street. Nice breakfast included. Would definitely stay there again.

linda, can you provide a nightly budget in Euros? Will you have a car and need parking? Are you hoping to stay in Colmar or one of the wine villages?

With the Christmas Markets, I think you'll find limited availability and high prices.

I stayed in the charming Hotel Saint-Martin in the midst of the old town. However, they may be booked out if you are going this December as the Christmas Markets are literally outside their doors.

I've also stayed at the Ibis Styles Colmar Centre.

Great location. Helpful staff. Nice breakfast.

I can also recommend Wistub Brenner. It's an Alsatian restaurant. Reservations mandatory.

I'll echo the rec for Winstub Brenner. Also, if you'd like something a bit more upscale, there's La Maison Rouge, near the covered market. Really enjoyed our meals at both. Reservations essential. But you can make them on line, at least for Maison Rouge. Not sure about Winstub Brenner.

We stayed at Colmar Hotel. It’s a block from the train station and it had free parking. To get to the old town it’s a mile walk or one can take the free electric bus that starts and stops its route through town at the train station.

Colmar hotel.
‘Paul and Pina’ about 300 m walk along Rue de la Gare , from..Le Gare.
All flat and easy.
Lovely little place with colourful theme, good breakfast , option to buy goods there, even able to prepare food. Very friendly and helpful staff.
About 500 m to old city, nice park on the way.
