colmar - car rental or Uber?

My wife and I are staying in Colmar for 6 nights (May 4 - May 10). During our stay we are planning daytrips to Eguishem, Kaysersberg, Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé and Selestat. We would like to know if we are better off renting a car or is there a
UBER service that we can use that goes to these towns? We would welcome any advice that you can give us! Thank you.

I've never used Uber, even in the US, so can't help with your specific question, but I see that Selestat has hourly rail service from Colmar, the trip taking about 10 minutes. Your other day-trip destinations are also quite close. Each can be reached by bus (I assume not so frequently) in less than 40 minutes. Equishem is extremely close to Colmar--less than 5 miles away. It might turn out to be practical to make some of the trips, at least in one direction, by bus. I'd stop at the tourist office or, if necessary, the bus station upon arrival in Colmar and check on the bus schedules so you'll have that information available.

I do think a car would be handy, though, if you have a good option for parking it in Colmar. I don't know what that might cost.

My Uber App shows no service for Colmar. Others on this site have rented cars for their day trips or taken taxis.
Uber does work in Paris, I have used them there.
I enjoyed Colmar last May/June, enjoy your trip.

We loved the Colmar region, but we had a rental car - the towns you selected are delightful !

You can check to see how much the taxi fare would run by using this website: www.taxifarefinder.com
You have to enter the exact addresses of your point of arrival and departure - normally the middle range is pretty accurate.
Then compare car rental fees. Sometimes you can get a good deal by renting for a 3 day weekend.
Parking garages are expensive, and parking is limited on the streets.
I'd suggest using the train and/or bus service, which will be the least expensive options.

Purchase train tickets 90 days in advance on the www.sncf.fr website - they will be much cheaper.

Another option, and one that many have found easier to use with U.S. credit cards to use to buy train tickets for France is trainline

www.trainline.eu

(the .com version is for trains in the UK)

(As mentioned above, you can get much cheaper prices by buying far in advance, but you should keep in mind that you are then locked into taking that train, so make sure of your schedule before purchasing!)
