Collioure to San Sabastian

Does anyone know a good way to get from Collioure to San Sabastian or Biarritz without driving?
Thank you!

Without driving there is no direct way to get from Collioure to San Sebastian or Biarritz.

By train it would be necessary to reach Narbonne then take a train to Bordeaux then another to Biarritz.

The shortest would probably be to go to Perpignan, then take a train to Toulouse and then a bus to San Sebastian.

In the best case, I think it will take you at least 7 hours.

JoLui has presented a good route. Another that's on Rome2rio is to go to Barcelona and fly.

Humans have been seeking a good way for thousands of years: how to get around or through those pesky Pyrenees.

A little over 2000 years ago Hannibal did it with elephants.

Hard to find these days. :-))

Didn't he go over the Alps?

Those Pyrenees are tightly packed together and steep.

Yes the Alps too. He left from Cartagena in Spain and crossed the Pyrenees before the Alps.

I shouldn't have digressed, it's going to give Sherri ideas for an elephant trip...

Wow didn't realize he had gone over Pyrenees, too.
Yes, you're right about digressing, but that's so interesting.

Apologies to the OP but interesting comments! Made me go look up Hannibal and the Pyrenees, lol.

If you have an elephant trip then I guess you don't really need to pack light.

The only problem is that rest areas for herds of elephants have become quite rare on French roads...

If you stop off in ELNE, as Hannibal did with his elephants, you can see a great mural depicting his encampment! The cathedral and monastery are worth a visit too!

and it costs just peanuts ... (groaning)
