Late next month my wife and I would like to travel by train from Collioure to Barcelona in one day. We would like to stop off in Figueres to see Dali Museum but current schedule is not convenient with first departure 1.07pm.
Do we need to go thru Perpignan? Any other suggestions?
Is there a luggage storage at Figueres station?

On bahn.de, I find trains at 9:53 and 11:06 from Collioure to Figueres. This trip is quite do-able (we did it in October 2013). Do NOT take a train that ends up at Figueres Vilafant, which is out in the country. You want the station called simply "Figueres" if you're looking online. Walk from the train station to the bus station (a block or so) and leave your luggage in the storage there. Then walk to the museum - and back when you're done. Pick up your luggage, head back to the train station and on to Barcelona. (Or, if you have time - overnight needed - take the bus to Cadaques and visit the Dali house. We loved Cadaques.) We found Figueres more interesting than we expected after reading Rick's guidebook (some interesting architecture).

Thank you Janet for your good info. I hope you are right as I had used bahn.de also for my info, maybe there's a change since 2013.

Why don't you want to go through Perpignan? Dali once said that the center of the universe was located at the railway station in Perpignan. Supposedly, there is a plaque memorializing this. From Perpignan, all trains are pretty much straight shots into Barcelona.
