Cobblestones Paris Rentals

Hi All -

I was just wondering if anyone has rented a studio apartment thought Cobblestone and would be willing to share their thoughts about the particular unit rented. I am particularly interested to see what your thoughts are on how small the studios seems and if it's tolerable for 3 nights. Amy husband is 6-5 and I want to make sure that he is not miserable. Also, if you did not like the area where the studio was located please let me know and why. Any and all information is appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I have rented two apartments from Cobblestone Paris Rentals and can recommend the agency highly. However, without knowing which apartment you are looking at, I can't advise you on a specific unit.

Which studio are you thinking about renting? They have 7.

I am aware that there are 7 studios. I was looking for someone that had rented ANY studio with Cobblestone - I really don't have one that I am more interested than another.

However, if I have to list one it would be Encore on the Square.

IME Cobblestone apartments are accurately represented on their website. This is one I was looking at, but decided on a one bedroom when a friend decided to join me. This is one of their newer properties. It is small, but well organized, with good storage, and in a great location. There is one flight of stairs and no elevator.

The studio I rented was La Belle du Marais, which is very small with no storage. It worked fine for me as a solo traveller, but I wouldn't recommend it for two people.

Since you are there for only three nights, you might be better served at a hotel where you will have the benefit of more services .

I have only seen one Cobblestone studio -- La Fleur du Bastille. It looks as pictured and is quiet. It is appropriate for two people though it is listed as having enough room for four. I don't know if the bed is comfortable because I did not stay there -- I just saw the space. There is a grocery store nearby and lots of places to eat and, if you need it during your three days, a laundromat nearby. The area is lively and I like it though, if this is your first trip to Paris, you may prefer to be in one of their smaller, slightly more central Marais properties. But given that La Fleur is listed as enough room for four and I think that it is the right size for two, I would probably agree with the other poster that the studios listed as being for two persons are better for one. Good luck with your search. BTW, if you are interested in cooking classes, I recommend L'Atelier des Sens which is nearby and the food is good at Le Cafe des Anges on the same street as the apartment.

Three nights.. why are you renting an apartment.. is it to save money or cook meals in.. is it the "living like a local fantasy" .. reason I ask is because I do travel often enough to Europe to rent apartments and to stay in hotels and not all visits suite any one sort of accomadation.. and for a three day visit I would think twice before going for an apartment.

Your hubby is tall ( my ex was 6'4") so make sure you get a bed with no foot board.. and a toilet room door that will close on him when sitting in toilet ( don't laugh, we have stayed in place where my hubbys knees blocked door closing)

I agree that the pictures on Cobblestone were representative of the apartment I rented. I rented La Jolie Du Passage for a week and it was a great experience. It is classified as one bedroom, but it is more like a large studio. It was the right size for 2 people and in a great location easy to walk to. One word of warning is that the shower was small so it would be a tight fit for your husband.

Hope you have the chance to find one that meets your needs. I have booked the Le Diamant En Isle for 8 nights May next year. First time renting an apartment, but I wanted something bigger than a hotel room that was about the same price I would pay for one. Really looking forward to the experience and have had nothing but immediate replies to my emails from them. If you do book a place through them, mention this article,http://boulderlocavore.com/where-to-stay-in-paris-cobblestone-apartments-a-true-gem/, in your comments & of course view it, and you will get two free Seine River Cruise tickets. I received mine a few weeks ago.
What ever you decide, enjoy your time in Paris.
