Closest train station to Stade Geoffroy Guichard in Saint Étienne

Hello mates! Maybe there’s an expert or connoisseur among us!
For the next Rugby World Cup, I’ll need to go from Lyon (near Perrache gare) to Saint-Étienne. Which station is closest to the Stade Geoffroy Guichard?
Thanks

If no one answers you can enter the name of the stadium in Google maps as the starting point and the names of the each of the stations (found in Wikipedia) as a destination to see which is closest.

I suggest you go to Google Maps and ask for Directions using transport, enter Gare de Lyon Perrache -> Stade Geoffroy Guichard at the time you want to go, and see what it spits out. When I looked quickly, it appeared that there isn't a station right by the stadium, so it's mostly a question of how far you're willing to walk. The main station is Chateaucreux and I think that's where most of the trains from Lyon go. Some go to more minor stations but you may have to change to get to a closer one.

All trains from Lyon serve Chateaucreux station, where you can take tram T3 to the stadium.
Don't hesitate to go to St Etienne a few hours early: the city center is very pleasant (lots of pedestrian squares) and there is a good mining museum at Puits Couriot.
