Clarification of Taxi fares when returning to CDG from central Paris

yes but there is also a 7 euro reservation fee and you really must book 2 days ahead. We have had no cabs available when trying to book the day before and been told to try in the morning which I am not doing with a high stakes flight. We are too old to lug our bags up and down steep metro steps to take the train.

It’s the exact same fare it was from the airport. The only difference is I generally reserve my taxi in advance, and there is a charge for that. But it’s worth it to know they’ll be there when I want to go back to the airport.

Great information. Thank you. As you alluded to with not wanting to find a cab the morning of travel, are the reservations made thru the G7 line trustworthy and reliable? I have not used that service before. How far in advance can you reasonably make a reservation to both assure that a cab is available, but also not so far in advance that your reservation could be lost?

Also worth mentioning, to get only the fixed fare would require finding a taxi rank, calling a taxi to your hotel, without a reservation ahead of time, still incurs the booking fee.

Also, they can charge for waiting. If you arrange a 7 AM pickup, be at the curb before 7 AM waiting, not in your room or the lobby waiting for notification the taxi is there.

I recommend you download the G7 app and use it. You can add your CC so you pay automatically when your ride is done. I've always had reliable service from booking ahead on the app either to the airport or to a train station (not a flat rate). I delete my CC information once I am back home, then add it back in when I return to Paris.

With the app you can also see where the car is and track its journey to you. I'm always out on the sidewalk about 5 minutes ahead because they are generally early.

I have used G7 for airport trips 15 or 20 times and never had one not show. Once they were delayed a bit in traffic but called and we had plenty of time -- that one was a run to Orly which is closer in. Very reliable.

Taxi ranks do no reliably contains taxis -- you often see them at major ones like Bastille but I have often stayed near taxi stand without ever seeing a cab in one. I would never arrive on 'just getting one' the morning of a flight.

The CDG/Paris fixed prices are 56€/65€ for the Right/Left Bank respectively. Not sure what you mean by "central Paris", there is only Paris. If your destination is la Défense or Neuilly, Montrouge, or anywhere else near Paris, but not in Paris, fixed fares are not available. Outside Paris to/from airports, fares are metered.

Fixed fares are based upon starting from a taxi stand, such as the departure points at CDG. If you call for pickup there is an additional 4€ fee, 7€ if you arrange for a future pickup.
