Citadines Trocadero and AirBNB

Curious if anyone has stayed at the Citadines Trocadero in the last couple of years, and if it is convenient and nice. Also, should we even consider AirBNB? We heard about Booking.com scams and thinking that is not the best place to look. Wonder if AirBNB backs the bookings up.

Disclaimer - I have never stayed in that Citadines, but I have in many others (Melbourne, Hong Kong and most recently Brussels - I stayed in the Citadines Toison d'Or in the Louise district in December). What I like about the chain is that if something goes wrong, you have a front desk where you can go if something's not right. This is the case if you are missing a potato peeler, if the neighbours are noisy, or if you get sick. They also give you a map on arrival which you can draw on if need be, and there is a breakfast room. While it's self-catering, last time I ate at the breakfast room once I had run out of food on the last morning. The breakfast was awesome. It also has a place you can do laundry (although bring some pods/ laundry sheets with you as there is nothing available for you on site). You will also have to buy or bring your own oil / vinegar / salt as there is nothing to start you off in the room.

Another similar chain is the Adagio. It is part of the Accor group and you can get freebies like upgrades by joining their free membership plan. Citadines is part of the Ascott group and you can get points which can be redeemed for a discount on your next stay if you join their membership plan. I now always stay at that Citadines in Brussels, partly because of the membership and partly because it is a very good location for our needs. I hope someone who knows the Trocadero location can respond about the specifics of that aparthotel.

I have not stayed there.

Is it convenient? That depends on your plans. Both the Trocadero Metro and the convenient bus route 63 is about a 7 minute walk and your only an 8 minute walk to the most glorious vantage point for the sparkling Eiffel Tower at the Place du Trocadero. If the price is right, I'd book it.

I have stayed at Citadines Trocadéro several times and enjoyed it. It’s in an upscale residential neighborhood, the 16eme arrondissement. I’ve always found that the local metro and bus connections require transfers to get to the top tourist sites other than Eiffel Tower, but it’s quiet and has a supermarket nearby and rue des Belles Feuilles market street a block away.

Perhaps check out the Citadines St Germain-des-près if you want to be closer to the major tourist areas.
