Christmas trip

We will be traveling from December 19-28. Plans are Reims, Luxembourg, Rothenburg and Colmar. Looking for suggestions on Christmas markets, lodgings and any other sights in these areas. We have a car. We like gites and self catering accommodations.

Colmar has a Christmas market. In the same area there are major Christmas markets in Strasbourg, Freiburg-im-Breisgau and Basel. In all three of these cities the area the Christmas markets are in is pedestrianised, you will need to park and get public transport.
Also in the Colmar area is the very scenic "Route de Vin d'Alsace" with some pretty towns along it, though it will be a bit bare in winter. If you have time, you can do a day touring the Black Forest.

P.S. Many Christmas markets close on Christmas Eve (24th December), some even the day before. The markets are for buying things for Christmas, so they are not needed after that. They mostly open from the last weekend in November.
