Christmas in Paris

Hello all,

Not confirmed yet, but we are a family of 4 (kids are 11 and 8) considering travelling to Paris for Christmas. I know weather won't be great, but other than that, is it worth it? Is everything open as usual, aside from actual Christmas Day? Any thoughts/information is greatly appreciated!

Christmas in Paris is very magical. You will absolutely be glade you did this. Most things are closed on Christmas Day, restaurants will be open but reserve well in advance.

Don´t miss the window displays at le Bon Marché on rue de Sèvres or the windows of Galeries Lafayette and le Printemps on rue Haussmann. The cupola of the Galeries Lafayette is also a rewarding visit at Christmas.

Place Vendôme is completely illuminated during Christmas time, another location you must see.

Even if it is cold, and it should be, there is plenty to see and do in Paris during Christmas.

And a train trip to the xmas markets in Colmar and Strasburg would definitely be a treat-make it at least a one-night trip. Also-, keep an eye on any French labor strikes.
Enjoy and safe travels!
