Christmas Eve Dinner Recommendation—Montmatre

Hi,

Our family of 4 is planning to attend Christmas Eve services at 11pm at Sacre Coeur and would like to eat dinner beforehand in Montmartre. Does anyone have recommendations of a restaurant that would be serving a traditional French meal with Bouche de Noel? Not looking for anything extravagant with the kids, but reasonably nice. Thank you!

Hi,

My favorite restaurant there is La Vache et le Cuisiner which is at 16 Rue de Trois Freres (Three Brothers Street). Take the subway to Abessess, turn left out of the station onto Rue de Yvonne du Tac (it's something like 180 steps up to the street so you may want to take the elevator), walk 2-3 blocks down Yvonne du Tac until you come to Le Progres on your right. Then turn left on Rue de Trois Freres. It's up on your right. It's run by Monsieur Didier and Kathleen: great traditional French food, good service, good prices and great atmosphere.

I've never had a bad meal there. Sometimes I'll just tell them to bring me whatever the specials are. Really, really delicious soups, which may go well at Xmas time.

Good luck

Hi Stephanie!
I’m taking my family for Christmas as well (and going to Sacre Coeur lol one of my favorite churches in Paris of course). I made reservations for both Christmas Eve & Day on The Fork…. Perhaps you might find a place on there! Some have menus for Christmas/New Years.
I hope you have a very Blessed trip and holiday!

Danielle--Which restaurant did you choose on the Fork? I'll definitely check out that website.

John--I've tried looking at the website for La Vache et Le Cuisinier, but it seems to be down at the moment. I see the restaurant has wonderful reviews.

Thanks to everyone for their input so far!

Stephanie, I chose Bistrot de l’Oulette for Christmas Eve and Le Paris Paris on Christmas Day. They have their menus listed for the holidays!

Our favorite joint in Montmartre is La Cave Gourmande, just steps from the Abbesses Metro. We had a family dinner there XMAS Eve several years ago, delightful...someone should order the beef bourguignon...check out the reviews on Tripadvisor....

Kerouac, we love them. I always have a good meal. The one in the Republique is very good also.
