Christmas dinner in Le Marais

Happy Holidiays!
I am looking for a recommendation for Christmas dinner. We are a group of 9 renting a flat in Le Marais and would like to have a dinner out option if we don't want to cook. Does anyone have a recommendation of a restaurant in the area that would be open? We are hoping for a nice bistro that has great food, good reviews, and reasonable prices. Thank you in advance for your help!

First, most restaurants close so employees can be with families. Second, this is very late for 2022. Finally, most places that are open are serving a fix-price meal with a fairly set menu. But look on The Fork, or in French, La Fourchette and grab anything you can find still available. You might find something in Le Marais but be prepared to travel to other neighborhoods.

Try Bofinger between Le Marais and Bastille. Or, check the Sarah Bernhardt at Place de Châtelet.

I haven't checked for this year, but in the past all of the Flo establishments are open on Christmas Day. We've never had any difficulty finding places to eat in the past, but it may be different post-covid now that staff have to be treated better.

One of the benefits of an apartment at Christmas is the ability to take advantage of the wonderful foods at butcher shops, delis etc when restaurants are mostly closed. I'd plan a nice dinner out another night and cook in at Christmas. We have done a pork roast larded with dried fruit and a boned duck stuffed with pate -- all prepared and ready to cook from the butcher on holidays in Paris. And the bakeries have lovely desserts.

Hit the cheese shops, the delis, the butcher, the greengrocer and do this one in.

We have reservations for Dec. 25th at Market Restaurant. I received an email yesterday saying that they will have a fixed price menu and they need my credit card number. I can understand that but what I am unwilling to do is give them my cc info without knowing 1. the menu and 2. the fixed price. I've responded with those questions but with no response from them.

We do have lunch reservations for the 25th. I'm thinking that might just be our holiday main meal with something from a specialty shop that we heat in the apt oven. Any good ideas of great places to pick up some fabulous heat-in-the-oven meals? Of course, there will be buche de noel for dessert.

Ahh, Janet, just saw your post. I like your suggestions. Do you have any recommendations for Le Marais which is where the OP will be staying and I, as well?

Finding a table in a restaurant at a reasonable price (< €50 per person) in central Paris for 9 people on Christmas Eve without having booked at least 3 weeks ahead is a challenge that I would not recommend to anyone.

Try the restaurants mentioned by Bets to which I add two other great Parisian and traditional brasseries:

"Au Pied de Cochon" in Les Halles or "Le Bouillon République" on the Place de la République.

Can't help much on Christmas dinner, but in general if the nine of you want to eat out in good restaurants you will need to reserve... or your experience might be frustrating.

Thank you all for your informed advice! We will take advantage of the wonderful bounty available in the area and have our meal in. We will split up the group and task everyone to shop the area and contribute a different dish!
