Christmas/Birthday dinner in Paris

Are restaurants opened on Christmas Day and if so what are some recommendations for Christmas Birthday dinner? I am traveling solo joining RS tour which starts on Xmas Eve and it looks like Christmas we are on our own So I am trying to plan ahead as to what to expect.

When I took the Christmas tour, we had a very special and memorable Christmas dinner at Le Train Bleu in the Gare de Lyon. Service by a remarkable wait staff in historic belle epoch surroundings. It was a unique “wow” experience. Consider it if you’re out on your own for dinner that night as most restaurants will be closed.

Thank you Phillip.....was that on your own or as an RS group dinner?

I have emailed RS CS so I am waiting for some guidance from them as well. I know guides have some discretion but I doubt we would do 2 back to back group dinners and I’d like some idea as to what is open and what might be safe timing for reservation given activities on that day. Of course I’m assuming that there might be some switch-up of itinerary for that day which could affect Christmas evening meal given that some of what we are doing would be closed due to Christmas I.e. Cluny Museum.

Perhaps some fellow tour members might join this discussion:)

Le Train Bleu has always been on my radar....any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated too.

Thanks to all😊
