Christmas at department stores

Just a heads up, I was in Paris 2 Christmases ago and had to stop into Lafayette and Printemps for some shopping. I just figured I'd head to the roof and kill some time, but this was not a unique idea. As I ascended higher and higher the crowds got even thicker until finally, just before reaching the roof, we had to wait in line for some minutes because it was too crowded up above.

Oh and that year there was a giant astronaut Santa in the atrium of the Lafayette, for some reason.

Galeries Lafayette has spectacular Christmas windows and of course the giant tree in the middle of the atrium. I think this years tree is one of the best. LaCuisine (a cooking school in Paris) posted a video of it today on FB.

The Christmas market is going up at the Tuilleries and looks king of good -- and the Grande Roule is already up there and it looks like there are other amusement rides going up. The Christmas decorations are up here and there.

Does anyone know if the department store windows have been decorated yet? We leave Sunday and so might take a peek tomorrow if they are.

My husband is there now and he says that window decorations at BHV near Hotel de Ville in the Marais are up. Very festive.
