My husband and I would like to travel from Paris to visit the castle at Chinon. What town/city should be our destination. Is there a train that goes from Paris to a city/town where we could get a local tour to Chinon castle.

The Château de Chinon is in the town of Chinon, which has a railway station on the opposite side of the town centre to the castle.

It takes 3 hours to get from Paris Austerlitz station to Chinon, changing at Tours.
Just look up the opening times, catch a train and walk (or take a taxi) to the castle.
