Children on South of France tour

Anyone who has been on the South of France tour in early June……did you find that there were children on this tour, since it is the beginning of summer vacation? Not that I don’t like kids….just don’t want to do a RS tour with them.

I’ve been on other tours that had kids on them and it just seemed that the guide tended to cater to them, instead of an “adult” tour.

If this is a dealbreaker for you, I’d suggest you call or email the RS office and ask if there are any kids on your tour.

This is from the Tour FAQ:

What is the age range of kids on these tours?
Families with kids 8 and older are welcome on our Family Europe: London to Florence in 13 Days tour and on all Rick Steves My Way® vacations. Teens are welcome on all Rick Steves tours.

I don't recall even teens on any of the 8 "regular" tours I've taken.

I’ve done 4 RS tours. There were 3 “pairs” of grandmas and teens on one tour. No teens on the others.
The teens on the one tour were great kids and added a lot to the tour group. I really enjoyed having them as part of the group.

I don’t think the real issue for you was the teens, it sounds like it was the tour guide. I’m not sure what happened, but I am sorry that it impacted your enjoyment.

Do you have to go on the tour in June? I was on the South of France mid September. The "kids" were pushing 40 years old.

Not the experience I have had on the RS tours I have done
