Arriving via train but leaving via ferry - is it possible to walk the distance? I'm a good walker with only a backpack.
The walk turned out to be much farther than we anticipated. The fact my family did not toss me in the Channel is a testament to their patience. So, here's our story and then you can use it against your own situation. We arrived early evening by train on a Sunday. Few cabs seemed available and on a map, the walk didn't look long. However, on foot dragging luggage, it turned out to be much farther. We could not find at entrance in the fence near the ferry terminal - maybe there is one that we couldn't find. The only entry route we could find followed the car route and that was reallllllly long. We made it in time, but we're hot and tired-plus we broke a wheel off me of the bags in the process. I wish I could remember how long we had between the train and the ferry-it seemed long enough, but the all made it tight.
Bottom line-research access to the ferry terminal. It wouldn't be too bad it there is a gate near the terminal.
