I am considering a day trip from Nice taking this narrow gauge rail. Has anyone taken the trip? I may go from Nice to Entrevaux and return. Going all the way to Digne and back, 6 hours on the train seems like a long day. Any suggestions?

Entrevaux is nice. There's much less tourist infrastructure than in towns closer to the coast, but hence it's more atmospheric. The scenery between Nice and there is good as well, as the train travels up the river Var. I agree that Digne is too far to go for a day trip.
