I have just come from their Christmas extravaganza. it is one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had. It is a gorgeous Chateau, the ambience is out of this world, the first thing that greets you when you enter the tour is a crackling fire in the fireplace and in every fireplace in every room. There is music playing throughout the Chateau and the Gardens. They have interactive activities throughout the gardens. The displays in the Chateau as you move from room to room get even more beautiful. There is something for everyone and it is not to be missed.
that is good to know - thanks for the report
I've always wanted to go to their Christmas display! How did you get there?
I looked at the images on Google. It looks fabulous. Was it mobbed or do they limit tickets/timed entry?
I loved my visit here years ago, but I would really enjoy seeing it during the winter holiday season. Thanks for letting us know.
It's fabulous. Any questions you really need to go to the website because some will be very specific to you
thanks for the idea of looking at the website. I'm sad that you didn't share how >you< got there, and how you thought it went.
It is certainly a sight to behold. I do not recommend Paris City Vision's trip there, as you spend more time in traffic than at the château.
I am here celebrating my birthday in Paris for the month I posted about the Chateau because it is viewable only for a very brief period of time and wanted as many people to be aware of it as possible.
I did not want to spend a lot of time answering very specific questions on how to get there but here goes.
The Chateau has a shuttle and there's a bus schedule online. it depends whether you are taking the train a car or a bus. it depends what train you take from wherever in France you are coming from. it depends on whether you are traveling on the weekends or a week day. I received the schedule on Friday, and went to the Chateau that next day on Saturday, the very first day and the bus schedule had changed. it is much better to go to the website then to rely on anything otherwise because things change and situations are specific to you. Hope you get to go.
happy birthday month!
Thank you for the extra information on transportation to the site and didn't mean to be pushy. I have looked at their website, was just wondering how you got there and it's good to know the schedule was changed on you.
Pam, we went with Sharyn last year. We took the RER to Melun, then a taxi to the château. When we were ready to leave we asked them to call a taxi for us. We didn’t have to wait too long for the ride back to Melun, then we took the RER back to Paris.
When I went a few years ago, I went the same way that Andrea just mentioned. I was with two friends, so we could split the taxi cost.
