Chateau de Vaux de Vicomte and Fontainebleu

We are planning on spending the day at Chateau Fontainebleu. We are thinking of doing the candlelit dinner at Chateau de Vaus de Vicomte. I have a couple of questions. It would be nice if we could fit both Chateau's in.

1. How long should we plan for Chateau Fonaineblue?
2. Can you tour the Chateau de Vaus de Vicomte in the evening before dinner or after dinner?

Thanks for your help

Yes. You can tour both the gardens and the chateau at Vaux le Vicomte by candlelight in the evening. They also have fireworks some evenings so plan accordingly!

Hi Wendy. My wife and I plan to do the Candlelight evening at Vaux le Vicomte as well. The Vaux le Vicomte website has the following information:

Candelit evening tickets are available starting from 2pm onwards.
N.B. : the château closes between 5.45pm and 7pm for candlelights implementation, but the rest of the estate stays open for the candelit-evenings ticket owners.

We thought we'd arrive around 3pm or so and tour the chateau until it closes for candlelight implementation. Then we'd tour the gardens until the chateau re-opens. We'll eat dinner there at the Restaurant Les Charmilles, and wait for the firework show at the end of the evening.

This is what I finally found when I hit make reservations.

Candlelight Visit
Chateau : Nicolas Fouquet's private apartments (first floor), stately rooms
ground floor, basement, garden, interactive model of the garden and carriage museum
Opening Times Every Saturday from May 2nd to October 3rd 2015 from 7p.m. to midnight.

So we are planning on Visiting Fontainebleu until they close at 6pm. Then take the train to Vaux de Vicomte. Tour the chateau and gardens have dinner and watch the fire works. I am figuring 4 hours at each place.
