Anyone been there very recently, say in the past few weeks? Just curious as to the state of affairs around the renos there. Besides the obviously unholy sounds, were the visuals at all compromised? Planning to (maybe) see it for first time this late October and would like to hear from recent visitors. Just contacted the church management itself but they weren't very specific.
I am done. The end.
What are "renos"??
Do you mean Cathedral renovations? Just trying to clarify.
If yes: https://www.cathedrale-chartres.org/en/actualite/the-dismantling-of-the-scaffolding-of-the-great-organ-is-now-finished/ (it says September 28th but should be August 28th according to my Google search)
Merci both for responding. Yes, I meant Cathedral renos. I am reacting to someone's TR from about I dunno, 5 months ago, stating that the current renos were both an eyesore and and ear-sore. My assumption was that it was actual church renos, but I stand corrected--perhaps that TR did not fully explain that it was indeed renovation specific only to the organ.
Trying to avoid a wasted daytrip if the visuals are not at their regular 100% visibility.
I am done. the blue
The current restoration concerns only the organ.
Another link showing the scaffolding:
Other developments are underway but only concern the replacement of the asphalt on the surrounding streets with stone slabs.
Merci JL! Always nice to receive information from people who live in the country in question.
