My wife and I will be on a Rick Steves tour in May for our 30th anniversary. On our actual anniversary (May 20) we will be in Chartres and I'm having a heck of a time finding a restaurant that is worthy of a 30th anniversary dinner that will be open on a Monday evening.
Any suggestions?

Monday is a very tough day and friends… At least in rural France...To find an upper scale French restaurant open.
My favorite for special events, L’Esprit Gourmand, is closed.
However, one well reputed restaurant is open! Restaurant l'Amphitryon - Le Bœuf Couronné.

We were in Chartres 5 years ago on the RS Loire to the South of France Tour. It was one of our favorite tours of all times. We were only there for two nights and don't recall anything "worthy of a 30th anniversary dinner." As previous mentioned you might consider choosing another fine restaurant along the way. Congratulations!
