Charters Hotel Recommendation Please

I was on an RS tour last year and we stayed at https://www.campanile.com/fr/hotels/campanile-chartres-centre-gare-cathedrale
Since it was prepaid with the tour I dont know the cost, but it's a pretty basic hotel and there was a parking lot in the back.

I can echo the same information as Allan. We stayed at the same RS hotel on our tour in 2013. Looking at the photo I believe it was called Timhotel Chartres Cathedrale at that time. It was a basic hotel, clean, centrally located (5 min. from the Cathedral) and a 5 min. walk from the train station. I understand that the hotel has been updated. We spent 2 nights there. We enjoyed Chartres.

for 85E/night. It was walking distance to cathedral and town center. We were only there overnight to see the cathedral and night light shows around town.

The best place in town is the Best Western Le Grand Monarque. It is beautifully decorated, has a famous restaurant, and you can occasionally get a great price. It is right in the main square, Place des Épars. In second , nearer to the gare, I suggest the small Boeuf Couronné. Also has a famous restaurant. These two hotels are independently run.
