What's the best way to get a taxi from Chantilly Gouvieux train station to Chateau Chantilly? I can't find any recent advise here or elsewhere beyond googling "chantilly taxi". I have found warnings about Chantilly taxis overcharging? The usually ridesharing apps have long wait times, which is often a sign nothing is actually available. We'd rather not walk or wait for a shuttle bus.
I'm not sure whether you've looked at the Chantilly website , but it appears that bus service runs from the train station ( bus station just down the street ) to quite near the chateau . The DUC bus takes you within walking distance of the Chateau - https://chateaudechantilly.fr/acces/ When you reach this page , click the box on the extreme right for the bus directions . Your post caught my eye , since I'm planning a visit there next Autumn .
According to google maps, the DUC bus runs infrequently and saves you only a few minutes compared to walking the whole way. If I'm reading the linked DUC schedule correctly, it's a considerable wait from the TER train morning arrivals (9:32 and 11:02).
Take a look at the #645 bus ,it seems that would work , perhaps its a better choice .https://www.datocms-assets.com/52778/1640696203-keolis-horairesreguliere645-v3b-numerique.pdf
If the train actually arrives at 9:32, a 9:40 bus might work. If the train is late, then no. Which bus stop is the Chateau?
From postings elsewhere, I wouldn't count on a taxi. Apparently the drive is too short (fare too low) to attract their interest. At least, that's what people post.
The stop is Eglise Notre Dame / Musee du Cheval , this is about a ten minute walk to the Chateau The DUC bus appears to stop just at the entrance to the Chateau
I haven't been since before Covid but there were taxis waiting at the station when the train from Paris arrived and had no problem taking us to the Chateau. On the way back we stepped out of the entrance gate at the same time the bus arrived so hopped on it to go to the station as did a handful of other visitors. It was really very easy then. I can't guarantee it will be as easy post-Covid as I don't know what the taxi situation is there currently.
Will you have a phone with service available? I'd want that in case a taxi is not there at the station and you need to call.
