My husband and I have train reservations from Chamberey, through Lyon, to Avignon. We only have 15 minutes to change trains in Lyon. Has anyone taken that route and can tell me if we have time to make our connection or should we try to change our reservation? Thanks.
Haven't taken that particular route from Chamberey but 15 minutes should be plenty of time to change trains. I just did a search on the SNCF website and Part Dieu is the same station that the Chambery train arrives and that the Avignon train departs. As soon as you get off the Chambery train, check the tv screen for the departures so you can find the correct platform for the Avignon train.
Thank you. My husband has an artificial leg so he can't walk too fast so I was concerned.
I assume the tv screen is right there when you get off the train? And the directions to the next track are easy to decipher?
Well there should be several screens all around the platforms. And if you feel you might be slowed down, let the conductor know and he can advise you of the nearest elevator/escalator so you don't miss the connection.
Im not sure what time and date you are doing that route, but most likely you will change in Lyon Part-Dieu station which has about 10 platforms. Unless your platform is right next to the one you leave from next, 15 minutes might be a little tight if you are carrying luggage and your husband has limited mobility. Here are a couple links that may help find more on the train stations as well as accessability

I also agree that it would be good to talk with the conductor when you get on the train but also as at the station in Chamberey if there is anything they can do to help as well. I hope this helps some. Thanks again for your email and your interest in Europe Through the Back Door.
Thanks so much. I think we will be OK now. Gwen
