Change of plans ... Train

Place to stay...in Nice, near the train station? What's your budget? What does "good place to stay" mean to you? (May not mean the same as it means to me.)

Last year I stayed at the Hotel Du Midi in Nice near the train station. It was OK (a fairly budget place).

Or did you mean you want a hotel in Pars close to the station, before going to Nice? I believe those trains leave from Gare de Lyon. Best of luck finding something close at this late date, especially in that low price range. I wouldn't be too picky about location. Go to TripAdvisor, booking.com or hotels.com and see what's available.

I can tell you are flustered since you left some key info out of your posting. Are we correct that you are looking for a hotel in central paris for the night on 5/30?

I did a quick check of Priceline.com hotel listings since they are usually a good source for last minute rooms. There were several hotels listed with availability under $200 and 2-3 under $175. There is usally a trade off somewhere. Location, amenities, etc. I suggest that you really need to go online and do this research yourself. Look at Priceline.com; look at Booking.com. Decide that if you need to be a little bit away from the train station you are willing to pay a few taxi fares. At this late date, be willing to be a little flexible.
