Change of plans from Portugal to France

I’m just wondering what others would do in our situation.

R/T next week from US to Lisbon with a plane switch in CDG. Then returning Lisbon to the US with a plane switch in Amsterdam. On Air France.

Flights were $900 less than current flights to France.

Purchased a one way flight from Lisbon to CDG on Air France on the same day. So we will never leave the airport in Portugal. (Fine print on ticket claims if we don’t go onto Lisbon they will cancel our return flight home). We also have a ticket returning from Paris to Lisbon on a budget airline.

Fully vaccinated. Should we get a Covid test for Portugal?

Can we beg Air France to just let us stay in Paris since we have proof of a same day ticket returning to Paris through their airline?

Also they wrote the date on my vaccine card wrong and just wrote over it. I’m nervous that this is going to be an issue in France. Anyone have experience with the same thing?

Thank you for any insight to ease my anxiety.

My guess is no, but you have nothing to lose by asking. They might be in a good mood. And many airlines have been generous with rebooking in these times.

frying pan and fire jump to mind. Both are having so much Delta variant trouble.

I hope it works out for you Stay-ce.

If a Covid test is required for Portugal, then yes you better have one.

And if by some miracle Air France agrees to your lety you stay in Paris and not fly to Portugal you better document the you know what out of that. Make sure you know exactly who you talked to, have all your details on what they said etc…because it’ll be very easy for them to say sure you can stay here and not do what they need to do in the computer and you come back to the airport and to go home and there’s no ticket I would not do this unless they were able to print you a new itinerary showing your return flight to without the requirement to fly to Lisbon. I would also check the day after and make sure you still have a ticket so you have time to deal with this problem.

I’m hoping you’ve given yourself a good amount of time to make this connection because it is an unprotected connection even though it’s all on one airline. Good luck

Did you call Air France and ask about changing the original flights, just dropping the Portugal legs? Airlines have been much more accommodating of changes and with Portugal's status changing, you may get lucky.

Call or stop in the site where you were vaccinated- if still available- they can issue you a new card.
