Any recommendations on best way to get from Chamonix to Nice?

You can fly nonstop (1 hour travel time) Geneva to Nice.
Check Skyscanner.com for best flight prices. Easyjet flies this route.
You can take an airport shuttle from Chamonix to Geneva. We took Chamexpress shuttle in reverse (Geneva Airport to Chamonix)
The train will take almost 10 hours with a couple of train changes.

Totally agree about flying for this. Fly or drive but the train is not a good fit for this trip -- at least two changes and probably about 10 hours in transit when driving will be about 5 and the flight will all in, meaning getting to Geneva and the time spent at the airport, be about 5.
