I'm racking my brain trying to figure out the best/most efficient way to get from Chamonix to Chartres. There seem to be so many extensive options, and nothing seems simple. Does anyone have any suggestions? I want to spend the night in Chartres but I don't want to arrive in the late afternoon or evening. I'd rather arrive in the early to mid-afternoon so I can enjoy the town. I wonder if overnighting in Paris, on the outskirts, is a better option before heading to Chartres? Or maybe just stay 2 nights in Chartres?
