Chamonix passes

Does anyone know if you can use one of the passes (probably getting the Pedestrian Stay Pass to access trails from some of the ski lift as well as Montenvers and Aiguille du Midi access) to access the same area more than once? Just thinking ahead in case of bad weather, perhaps making reservations on different days of pass validity for Aiguille du Midi if that's allowed.

I know some types of passes allow only one visit to a site but I've not found any fine print about such for these passes.

We'll be there the second week of April, 3 days in Chamonix.

Many thanks.

I don’t believe so. We were there in Sept last year doing a modified TMB and rearranged one of our hiking days to hike in the rain so that we had good weather on our rest day when we did the Aigulle de Midi and the Mer d’glace and one other item on the combined ticket. The weather was only so so the prior 2-3 days so there were big crowds on the day that the weather cleared. And the gondolas going up to the Aigulle were jam packed and sold out very quickly.

If you end up in a similar situation, get there very early to book a ticket. The aigulle ticket was for a very specific time. I wouldn’t book the ticket ahead of time since if it is cloudy you may not see much when you are at the top. Also, since mountain weather changes as the day heats up, and clouds start to build, I would try to get up the aigulle early in the morning and leave the other stuff for later in the day

The above is a super helpful website regarding how to deal with Aiguille du Midi and other hikes in area. We visited two years ago in August and did not realize some planning should be done prior to arrival to get the Aiguille and Helbronner ticket. It was extremely busy that time of year and at least we had three days in town so we were able to get a mid day ticket for our 3rd day but we were rushed in our sightseeing that day due to a lot of long lines for boarding different stations throughout the whole experience. There is a way to get a pass for one fee that includes many cable cars and the Aguille due Midi all in one fee, but I don't know if you can use multiple times or not to same place. I believe in the link above there will be another link to direct you to that information. You get some sort of voucher # so that later you can pick the date/time for the Aguille Du Midi. That being said, you probably only want to commit to the Aguille ticket 3 -4 days in advance of when you want to go once you know the weather report. No point in going on cloudy/rainy day. Follow Rick's advice in his guide book on this. Hope this helps.

Many thanks for the responses. I've learned, via contacting their information folks, that one can use a pass more than once but for the Aiguille du Midi, you can only book a second ticket/time slot after you've embarked on your first booking. So one booking at a time but more than one booking allowed.
