Chamonix Mid-Late June

Hello-

In the early stages of planning France trip for mid to late June 2023. Thinking of stopping in the Annecy/Chamonix area for a few days. My questions is about the lifts and the trails at that time. All information I find says the lifts reopen in mid June with some only on weekends. Does anyone have any experience in Chamonix during that time that can advise on lift and trail conditions? Looking to take the main cable car to Mont Blanc and then the 2 lifts to take the hike to Lac Blanc. Thank you!

Hi - the start times will depend on how much snow is left - if they had a late spring or early heat. Most of the hiking tours usually start in early July - but you may want to contact the local TI or mountain guides info for their assessment what they had historically. If you are a good hiker you can probably make it up the trail with some poles (or rent some of the boot-spikes for any icey spots).
Hope that helps - its an amazing hike so enjoy it. Dont forget to look for the "Floria" Hut on the way down too if you can.

Thanks for the additional information. I was thinking it will largely be variable on the weather. If only we could control the weather ;) Quick question - what does TI stand for?

Tourist Information (TI). In France it will be spelled Tourisme on the banner/window.

The RS MyWay tour I took ended in Chamonix June 17-18. The cable cars to Aiguille de Midi were running and mostly full. A few of the more intrepid tour members went hiking but I don't know where, 2 middle-aged women went paragliding for the first time. I had planned to take the Panoramic Mont-Blanc Gondola but it was out of service on the day I was there, the employees didn't know why.
