Chamonix in October

Has anyone been in Chamonix in October? What activities attraction would you recommend? We have 2 kids ages 7 and 5. Thanks!

yvette,

I'm not sure that will be the best time of year to visit Chamonix. The summer season will have ended and it will be too early for the ski season. Outdoor activities like paragliding probably won't be operating. Aside from hiking and exploring the area, you could take the cable cars to the Aguille du Midi. The Panoramic Mont Blanc cable car that travels across the glacier to Pointe Helbronner (IT) won't be operating at that time of year.

One caution about the Aguille du Midi.... if you're susceptible to altitude related issues, note that the Aguille is at an elevation of about 12,600 feet and that does affect some people.
