We are traveling by car from Mont St-Michel to Amboise. Staying in Amboise two nights at Chateau de Aprentis. Then travelling from Amboise to Chartres. We are looking for two evenings at a CH. The first in the Alencon, LeMans or Angers area. The second in the Orleans or Chartres area. Does anyone have recommendations of Chambres d'hotes ?

With our tour group, I enjoyed staying at http://www.labourdaisiere.com/jardin/, in Montlouis-sure-Loire, near Tours. They have different prices to stay in the main chateau or the annex and a fabulous tomato garden. To help find accommodations in such specific locations, you might also look at www.viamichelin.com.

The Gites de France organization has a large listing of chambres d'hotes which have been inspected and accredited by the organization.

We did the same MSN to Amboise to Chartres drive. Spent two nights in Amboise and did a Chartres day visit on the way to Paris. Can't give you a CH recommendation but would stay a night in Chartres if I had the chance. Beautiful cathedral and great little old town!
