Is it possible to buy tickets in advance for the Chagall Museum in Nice? I have read that there are long lines and difficulty even getting in; is it advisable to get in line early before the 10:00 a.m. opening time? Any advice about visiting this museum?
The Chagall Museum was built with all the individual paintings considered in the plans. Amazing.
We got walk up tickets last year with no line, but be aware that they close for lunch from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. That was the case last year and it’s still posted on their website.
What time of year did you get tickets with no line? I am planning to see this museum on Saturday October 5th.
We were there in March a few years ago (pre-Covid) and just walked up, bought out tickets, and went in.
It's a good museum. Worth a visit.
In early June 2019 we just walked up and bought tickets.
We visited the Chagall Museum a few weeks ago on April 1. We arrived around 12:50 PM and waited in line for about 15 minutes. They were allowing groups of visitors to enter as other guests were leaving. I know the website notes that the museum is closed 1:00 - 2:00 PM but that day at least we were given admission just after 1:00 and the museum stayed open continuously during our visit. We presented our French Riviera Pass for admission.
We were there mid-May 2023.
I was there yesterday, May 8th. Arrived about 10:30 when there was no line to speak off.
There were two sets of guards: the first at the entrance from the street, who admitted me after hearing that other guests had just exited the property. The second is at the entrance to the ticketing area, he manually inspected my bags and asked me to remove my water bottle... which I was able to pick it back up while exiting the building. Note that you will need to check larger bags.
The ticket purchase itself was quick, nothing unusual to report.
