My husband and I both have iphones with Sprint service. There are certain areas in California that Sprint doesn't work as well so I'm wondering since we have decided to get international service on our iphone while traveling will we have problems with cell phone reception? Just wondering if anyone else has encountered problems (we'd prefer not getting another phone for the trip). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sprint uses a mobile technology called CDMA in the United States - also used by Verizon. In Europe CDMA is not used at all - instead they use a technology called GSM (used by AT&T and T-Mobile in the US). Your iPhones apparently have the ability to roam on GSM internationally, meaning you will be using not Sprint but some other network in France. I have no idea what your reception would be - depends on the GSM network you will be roaming on and where you will be traveling. But in Paris alone, I'd expect excellent reception in general on any popular GSM network.
