Cell number format

Just checking to see if anyone here can help!

I'm attempting to reserve a ticket for the National Equestrian Academy of Versailles show, but it's requiring me to add a cell phone number in order to proceed with paying for the ticket. It's telling me that my number isn't a mobile number -- does anyone know what this means? I've tried typing it in with a +1, 01, etc. but no luck. Any ideas?

It may be that it doesn't recognize US phone numbers.

Did you try 001-area code-xxx-xxxx?

If that doesn't work then it probably is the number itself.

Have you tried with a +1 like this:

+14257718303

?

Maybe it's not allowing you to use a number outside of Europe. Try entering a French number like this:

+33 1 30 83 78 00

And see if it accepts it (but before you make the purchase).

For those curious about how to get by this kind of block, mobile numbers in France begin with 06 or 07, so a combination of numbers in the format

06 xx xx xx xx
or
07 xx xx xx xx

(where "x" is any single digit number)

...would be interpreted by a website as a mobile phone number.

The problem would arise if the website sent an SMS to that number and, if you'd made it up, you wouldn't receive the SMS to validate the number. I don't recall seeing that. It's fairly common with email addresses and possible (but not often done, if at all) with mobile phone numbers.
