We will be arriving at Paris CDG at 10 PM. I’m guessing by the time we get through Immigration and Baggage Claim, it will be at least 11 PM. We hope to take the CDGVAL shuttle to the PR parking stop and walk to the Holiday Inn Express. We are concerned about safety this late at night. Does anyone have experience with doing this? Is there reason for concern?

I don’t think you need to worry about physical safety but be vary about a gang of young girls who try to help you find the elevator to the train. They pickpocketed a number of folks just trying to get to the train. This was at about the same time you are arriving 10 PM or so

The shuttle is automated and so there will be no crew for security. I think a swarm is unlikely as the little train feels like it is part of the big airport. I have used that particular stop fairly late at night and saw hardly anyone around. But it is always wise, anywhere, to walk in a determined manner as though you know exactly what's what. In the city, if approached by possible scammers, be loud and obvious and rude (yes!) in suggesting they vamoose.
