My flight arrives in Paris next week and I have three hours from landing to clear customs and make it to the TGV for my connection to Tours. Is this realistic?
Thanks.
It is realistic if the TGV is actually departing from the "Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV" station. If it is departing from one of the stations in central Paris, that probably very tight.
You have plenty of time. I made a connection between a flight and a TGV train in less than an hour once! However, it's smart to look at Paris By Train or other sights in advance to figure out how to navigate CDG. Especially if you are arriving at Terminal 1, it can take a long time and be confusing.
My wife has done the research and it would appear that if we arrive around 10:15 am from Toronto, we will be able to take the TGV to Lyon around noon - I presume this is sufficient time
Only concern as best I can tell is that if your flight is late and you had the tickets to the TGV you may forfeit the reservation
These are estimates on our part as the schedule for September is not yet available, but we are assuming the times will remain consistent
Jim, again the same question I put to Jordan: "Which station is your TGV departing from?"
Is it the TGV station at Charles de Gaulle airport, or Gare de Lyon in the centre of Paris?
If it is the former you should be able to catch your "TGV to Lyon". Reckon ~15 minutes taxiing and to get off plane, 30-60 minutes to walk through terminal, go through immigration (the big delay), pick up bags and get to station. 10:15 + 15 + 60 = 11:30, OK for a Noon train provided your plane is on time.
If your train is starting from Gare de Lyon, no hope.
According to my wife, we are taking the train to Lyon at CDG although we have to move terminals
