CDG to Paris with RER question

So we will be arriving at CDG (new for us, we always fly into Heathrow!) and we need to get to the Cambronne metro stop. I know we have to take the RER to Denfert-Rochereau - will we need to use a metro ticket (will buy a carnet anyway), or do we just 'transfer'?

Hi Nicole,
you don't need another ticket, your RER ticket will do for the whole trip, as long as you don't exit the transit system.

Yes, your RER ticket will also be good for any connecting Metro rides, as long as you don't exit. However, be sure you keep your ticket handy until you've exited. Not only can there be ticket checks at any time, but when changing from RER to Metro you will need to re-insert your ticket in various turnstiles to finish your journey.

My wife and I just came back from Paris , we purchased a passé navigo , which is good for a week and up to a year , it gets you into all 5 zones , all subways , rer trains, buses , the furnicular , the train to fountainbleau , and the bus to the chateau . It was 21.25 euro and a one time 5 euro fee. It has a chip that you scan going through the turnstiles . We used it for the first week , went to Amsterdam for 3 days , when we came back we recharged it at a machine . It worked fantastic ,saved us money , didn't have to worry about tickets . Buy it at the airport at a ticket counter

This will be our 3rd visit to Paris, so I know to keep the ticket (especially because last time hubby lost his when we came back from Versailles and I had to 'waste' a ticket getting him thru the turnstile...lol).

We are only there for 3 nights - so really about 2 1/2 days by the time we get in from the airport. We are technically in the 15th, but right on the border of the 7th so not too far to Eiffel (about 10-15 min walking distance). I will probably just get a carnet of 10 since I imagine day 1 will just be walking around the Eiffel and surrounding areas (or using Velib since we arrive on car free day!)...and - fingers crossed - it looks like the weather is going to be perfect Autumn weather for our three day. I'm hoping that doesn't change. We have nothing major planned other than St Chapelle and I booked a ticket for a Seine cruise - we've seen most of the other stuff the last few times. We may return to the Louvre...or not. Maybe go back to Sacre Coeur...or not. Maybe climb the Arc or go to Montparnasse Tower...or not. We are just going to see where our few days take us in the city with no pressures (mostly pastry shops, I hope).
