Planning to transport 4 adults with luggage from CDG to a Paris 7ar hotel in late July around 7:00am. Will a taxi be quickest and reliable for this size group? Or what other methods might be better?
Hi,
Yes, a taxi is the best method, even though you will hit some rush hour traffic, the fare is fixed so it's not a big issue.
We used a shared shuttle service for three people
Shared shuttles will not be the quickest option and shuttles have a very bad reputation for reliability in Paris.
Taxis are always there waiting for you. The fixed fare for 4 people is 50€/55€ to the Right/Left Bank respectively.
And 7th arrondissement is Left Bank; therefore 55€.
There is no reason to hire a shuttle since such time as the Paris authorities fixed the taxi fares. It doesn’t make sense any more.
Do you pay cash? or do the taxis take credit cards?
I always have cash with me just incase the debit/credit card system is not working. That happened only once, but I had the cash with me. When traveling on my own, I just use the Metro.
My family and I just used https://www.interserviceprestige.com/ last week. 70 euro for 4 people. They greet you at the arrivals area and you are on your way. No taxi lines, no confusion.
The CDG taxi lines are very orderly (at least at Terminal 2), and taxis have the advantage of being able to use bus lanes - a big plus in the morning rush hour, so I'm not sure I'd pay an extra 15€ (vs. the standard 55€ fare) for a greeter. But the choice is yours!
