CDG to paris, Taxi or RER?

Rick writes all about it but let's say Monday late AM arrival, party of four. What's the real life, convenient way to get from the airport to the 6th?

Merci,

Scott

With 4 people the RER will cost you 40 euro into Paris and navigating whatever Metro route to get close to your hotel, then an unknown walk (unless you want to tell us where you are going). With a taxi, about 60 euro will get you to the door.

A taxi or shuttle would be more convenient as it is door to door service but the RER is pretty easy and around 10€ pp but you have to navigate the metro/train system and streets with luggage. A slight pain if you travel light, I would imagine a bigger pain if you have a lot or heavy bags.

I just did it: taxi. You do not want to haul your luggage up many steps after you arrive tired. treat yourself to this one.

Scott,

With a party of four, Taxi or Shuttle would be the easiest solutions. With four people, I'm assuming that the bill would be split in half? However with a normal Taxi (car), fitting in four with luggage could be a challenge. You'd need to find one with a minivan.

There are LOTS of Shuttle firms listed, and I'm sure the guidebook will have a recommendation (I didn't check). If you pre-arrange one, they'll be waiting with your name on a card and will likely be using a minivan so no worries about having adequate room.

I normally travel solo, so the the RER works fine for me. I can usually get to the area of my hotel with one or two changes on the Metro, so not too much of an effort.
