CDG to Monet Garden or Loire Valley without going through Paris train stations

Hi

I'm doing research for a future May 2025 trip. I would like to know if it's possible to go from CDG airport (train travels)
-Monet garden (Station Vernon-Giverny)
-Loire Valley (Ambroise, or Tours Centre or TGV station Corps St Pierre [correction: there's TGV from CDG to Saint-Pierre-des-Corps]

Travelling with senior parents and carry-on luggage but would prefer not go from the airport to
-Gare St Lazare for heading to Vernon-Giverny (Monet garden)
-Gare Montparnasse for heading to Loire Valley areas

Thank you

I think it would be difficult, but will let others chip in with ideas.

You can't get to Giverny from the Gare de Lyon - the station serving the line to Vernon is Gare Saint-Lazare.

For the Loire Valley the main TGV station is Saint-Pierre-Des-Corps near Tours, which is indeed served by Gare Montparnasse.

Two very nice destinations.

Hi,
A taxi from CDG to Giverny would cost about 150-200 euros. Significant, but not completely unrealistic.
By the way, trains to Vernon leave from St Lazare.

For the Loire valley, there are a few TGV from CDG to St Pierre des Corps.

Thank you @Nigel for picking up my error. Yes I've updated "Gare St Lazre" in my original post.

I had a feeling that there's no other way around it, but wanted to double check with you guys.

Depending on the flight arrival time, it might entail taking RER from CDG to one of those Gares (St-Lazare or Montparnasse) then onward to Monet Garden or Loire Valley. Or if it's late then RER to a Paris hotel, then next day RER to one of those Gares.

Thank you @balso.
I've corrected my gare mistake for Vernon. Now it has Gare St Lazare in the original post.

Hmm taxi option CDG to Giverny is a bit expensive. Where do you get reliable taxi? From the airport? Also do any of the air transport transfer companies do such a trip?

A compromise would be taking a taxi to either of those stations from CDG, then the train to Vernon or St Pierre des Corps. Use only taxis from the official taxi queue outside the terminal exit. It's a fixed rate into central Paris.

It will cost 55 to take a taxi to Gare St. Lazare and then you catch the train to Vernon. Paris is the hub for train travel in France -- it is hard to go from one place to another outside a region without passing through Paris.

If you want to start in the Loire, it is 62 to Gare Montparnasse -- be sure you know which of the stations within the station you need as you want to cab taking you to the right station. If you are in platform 3 which is Vaugirard, it is quite a walk from the main station 1 and 2 and so you want to be sure you are delivered to the right station.

I would not think you would want to go to the Gardens at Giverny after a transatlantic flight, but go somewhere to relax until the next day; if you are coming from Schengen or from the UK then 'nevermind.'

Doctor Google says you can catch the TGV to Saint-Pierre-Des-Corps at the train station inside CDG. So shouldn't be a need to fool around with other stations. But I'd recommend double checking with SNCF.

Thank you @CJean for the info.
Thank you @janettravels44 for the info and things to watch out for.

Thank you @jphbucks for pointing out that there's TGV to Saint-Pierre-Des-Corps does leave from CDG. This is my error.

Does anyone know a good way to link Loire Valley area to Monet Garden or vice versa? Or it's just better to back to Paris Gares?

You can go from Tours to Giverny by train without going back to Paris, but it takes 5½ hours and involves changing train at Mézidon and Rouen

@janettravels44 the approximate taxi rate is good 3 of us? was the amount for Euro or USD? Thanks

Nothing approximate about cab fares from CDG -- it is 55 to the right bank for 4 people and luggage (no extra charges, no metering). And it is 62 to the left bank. With 3 people it start to get quite cost effective especially since metro involves steep stairs, sometimes a whole lot of steep stairs.

Thank you @janettravels44 for your correction and explanation.
Do cabs take credit cards or cash (euro) only?

Taxis are supposed to take credit cards. Even so, check first because some drivers may say their CC machine is broken. I have never had a driver tell me that who I believed but I understand why they prefer cash and usually pay in cash.

...some drivers may say their CC machine is broken.

If a driver says his CC machine is broken at the end of the ride, tell him it's a credit card or nothing. Magically, the credit card machine will suddenly work.

FYI the taxi fares from CDG just increased in February, to 56€ to right bank and 65 to left.
