CDG to Louvre Area

Is there a consensus on preferred transport from CDG into Paris (Louvre Area) and price comparisons?
RER?
Air France buses?
Taxi/Uber
Thanks all ....

Means of transportation preferred generally depends on how much luggage one has, how jet lagged one is, the state of one's budget, the time of arrival at CDG, one's Paris destination, mobility issues. Lots of variables to consider. Uber can't get in to CDG.

There is no consensus because it depends on the amount of luggage you are carrying, and your own mobility.

1) A normally able bodied person with luggage they can carry/wheel (and the general advice is to never bring more luggage than you can comfortable carry/wheel). The answer is RER + connecting métro to nearest métro station. Likeliest to be fastest and reasonably cheap at €10.30 per person

2) If your luggage is too much, or you are many people, a taxi from the taxi rank, at a fixed price of €50 per taxi to anywhere on the right bank (including Louvre area), Will be slower than RER+métro during most of the day

Thank you Chris F. from Basel.
Able-bodied, from San Francisco with carry-on luggage only ... so sounds like RER best way to go.
Many thanks.

Agree with Chris F. Every time I've used CDG, we've used the RER. Never a problem. I believe its RER B, if you are flying out of CDG as well, make sure you pick the RER that terminates at CDG. There is a split and only some of the trains go to the airport.

It also depends on how many people in your party (i.e. if you're splitting a can fare, it becomes cheaper per person).

There can be many problems, i.e. construction delays, pickpockets, strikes, and malfunctions of all types. Whenever I travel to or from either airport, I always check, in advance, for transportation concerns or delays. Confirming with an app (such as the Citimapper or the RATP app) can save your missing a flight or being caught in huge delays.

Both airports have free internet. I recommend checking www.ratp.fr before deciding how to travel to (or from) the airport.

Be sure you are pick pocket proof on any public transport and that you keep a firm grip on small bags of valuables like purses or computer bags. This is true in any crowded place in Europe. Pickpockets are ubiquitous and highly skilled; it is organized crime in Europe. Your risks of mugging are practically zero, but keep a wallet in your pocket and you are likely to find it gone. (don't put it in a backpack either, the pickpockets buffet.)

If you are one person and can easily climb stairs with your luggage the train is the way to go.
