Traveling to Paris next month. Although I have been reading about the airport chaos in Heathrow and Amsterdam, I have not seen much on CDG except for the strikes. Wondering if immigration and baggage are impacted. Are immigration lines still about an hour? Anything other helpful observations appreciated. Thanks!
I was looking for this also, and I believe that there was some discussion of this in the Transportation section of the forum a few days ago. You might check there.
Passport control at CDG has always be problematic. Expect delays anywhere from 10 to 90 minutes.
As of last Sunday, the last time I flew AF out of CDG, expect to check in your luggage 2 hours before scheduled departure.
My wife and I arrived into CDG 2A from Toronto on July 8th and they had dedicated eGates for Canadian, US & Japanese passport holders then a quick stamp of the passport. The whole process I think took 5 minutes while for bags we did carry on only so no wait there and customs, well there was none. From time off the plane to going into the public area was about 20 minutes including a quick washroom break.
Hope this helps.
My experience in April was similar to the above; of course that was then and this is now. A half hour to 45 minutes in a couple of lines. I also had to get a test, which took about a half hour and cost more at the on-site pharmacy than it would have in the centre of Paris.
