Cdg T2D toT2E amount of time needed/procedure

We are flying on Easyjet from Nice with an arrival time of 10:45 am in 2D and then have another flight out on Air France to Atlanta departing at 2:00 from 2E. I guess after de planing we have to go out and get our luggage and then re-enter the terminal? Or are able to stay in the terminal and just go through passport control? Is that enough time?

Are you using a single ticket (one PNR) from NCE to ATL or are you attempting a self-connect through CDG?

and get our luggage and then re-enter

If you have checked bags, you will have to retrieve them from easyjet carousel, go to the AF check-in to drop them off and then clear security and passport control, and get to the gate.

If everything works like the proverbial Swiss watch, you probably can make it.

If I were doing it I would want more time.

Did making it a 2 ticket trip really save enough $$ to make the stress worth it?

i'd not do this as the the schengen exit passport control and security process can be pretty time consuming AND CDG has fairly notoriously terrible baggage service. We waited an hour last fall (and they finally discovered that bags of about a dozen people were jammed in an underground queue. But since you don't have to worry about the even more time consuming immigration process coming from Nice, you can probably do it. but the stakes are pretty high for missing that flight. If it were me I would fly in late the night before and stay at an airport hotel. If you were going the other way it is less of a big deal but that cross Atlantic flight is going to be very pricey to have to buy one way.

An added wrinkle. While transatlantic flights are usually on time or early, domestic flights are not. The Berlin/CDG flight we were booked for last fall had a record of being late about half the time and about a third of the time we would have missed our connection. I used that data to convince the airline to change our connection to Amsterdam where it was tight but manageable as Schiphol is a much easier airport for transfers. You might just look at the on time record of your Easyjet fligh. Since Easy Jet makes no nevermind about passengers missing flights due to their issues, this is a risky choice.

Easyjet is a great little airline. We have used them a few times, once with self connecting (but not through CDG.) If your Easyjet ticket is changeable to an earlier time, I'd suggest doing so to give yourself a buffer. If your ticket is not changeable, you might consider looking in to one of those concierge services that can wisk you through checkin/security at Charles de Gaule. I have never used this service but have heard that it can be a life saver for those with time constraints. And I do not know the cost. But if flights are set, and your layover is set, then it may be a good option for you once you exit security from your first flight to re-checkin for the AF flight.
