I'm flying out tomorrow to Paris and wondered if anyone can respond to some questions. First, is Le Bus still no longer working? I read that it shut down in 2020, but wanted to confirm since it seemed like the most direct option for traveling from CDG to Gare Lyon. Second, for RER tickets, is a Navigo Easy pass the best option and can you buy it from a machine? Sounds like that is the way to go for train tickets these days, but I wasn't sure. I appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance.
Le Bus Direct is out of business.
RER tickets are only sold in the old, paper ticket format. If you want a day or weekly pass, you should first purchase the Navigo Découverte card, (5€) and load an appropriate fare. The Navigo Easy (2€) can be loaded with up to 30 ticket t+, a day pass, or a ticket for the Orlybus or Roissybus.
The Navigo Easy pass would be the way to go if you'll be spending time in Paris and taking multiple rides on the system. You can buy it from a machine at CDG. But if all you want is to get from CDG to Gare de Lyon, to take a train to some other part of France, then all you need is a single RER ticket, also available from the machine. Take the RER "B" train from CDG to Gare du Nord, and change there for the RER "D" train to Gare de Lyon. Here's more about that. The Paris by Train website is a great resource for all things rail in and around Paris.
Thank you so much, everyone. Very helpful!
